Heck of a cross check issued by the Sue's number 4 from SSP Sam LaShomb on Kelly Terry a full 2 to 3 seconds after the game winner was scored. I am wondering why no penalty was called. It doesn't matter if the contest was over, the penalty should have still been called. I would have taken it all the way to a game misconduct status as it was totally uncalled for and extremely poor sportsmanship besides, also the possibility for injury was definetly in play as well. A cheap shot to the max....

I am really happy for the women's hockey team and hope they can finish this weekend with the title. I think it is terrible that the NCAA is not making sure this is on tv. The NCAA is suppose to be for the student athletes but it looks like money is more important. Turner, the NCAA and the Big 10 Network should all be ashamed of themselves for once again putting money ahead of fans and student athletes. The women's hockey has received very little attention and are closing in on history while playing because they all love the game. Pro sports steal the headlines and the Miami Heat is who is receiving all of the attention. We are suppose to get all excited to watch the phony twin of the WWE, NBA basketball. Why waste radio and tv time talking about a record that involves grown men making millions, playing basketball with the same basketball hoop height that I use to shoot at in 4th grade and have them tell you it is a business and want to charge a fan for an autograph ? We should be supporting the women's hockey as they chase history the right way! Teamwork and pure love of the game! It sure is fun to watch amazing hockey and to know it is because it is important to everyone. It is not just another million dollar payday! Good luck! You are amazing and a joy to watch! Go Gophers!

It's great many more people realize what a gem the Gophers Womens Hockey team is. A mediocre Gopher Mens Basketball team gets front page coverage day after day. Last week is the first time the Star Tribune printed a front page Sports story on the Gopher Womens hockey team. If I'm wrong, so be it. But real reporting about the Womens hockey team has been very sparse which is shameful. Those of us who follow the team knew that the Womens NCAA Title last year was well deserved and also knew this years team was even stronger, with more depth. Whether they repeat as NCAA champions will be icing on the cake. If they don't repeat it is okay. They are great athletes who have accomplished what no other Womens team has accomplished, ever. I have my tickets for Friday and Sunday. Lack of TV coverage is also shameful. But this weekend will be incredible because this team is incredible.

Anyone who follows the Women Hockey team knew this team would be just as good as last year's team that won the NCAA championship. However, yeah, I don't think ANYONE could've/would've predicted an unbeaten regular season! Especially not with having to play arch-rivals Wisconsin, UMD, and North Dakota at least 4 times each! (Side note: I am SO glad the Women's team is not making like the Men's and leaving the WCHA! - Ugh!) But having played such tough competition only made them better as the season went on. Like I've stated before, while any of the other three teams in the Frozen Four could potentially beat the Women Gophers, if the Gophers play THEIR game, and play to their full potential, chances are they will come out on top. I know they have the talent, skill, and determination to finish this season in style! To the Women Gopher Hockey team, you're awesome! Keep it going!!

Im kind of mad, at myself, and at the strib. I love hockey, period. I am going to go see if I can get into the games this weekend and I am going to check into season tickets for next year. Them not being on TV for the final four should be a crime! I could only afford to go to one Wild game this year. $180 for two tickets, $30 for gas, $15 for parking and $14 for TWO waters! $239 to go to one game, that is rediculous. I hope the girls win it all!

It's Friday... after tonight, it may be the best show in town.

All of the games are sold out. They should have played these games at Mariucci arena. I hear that it will be available to watch through I'm still looking for the link. Yes, it is a crime that its not being televised on network tv. Good luck Gophers.

If one has a sports product that people want to attend or watch on TV, then there is no problem with a loyal fan base. The media has certainly gone overtime trying to promote this woman's hockey team = yet the attendance remains very low, despite tickets that cost less than a high school hockey game. Why is it a "crime" or a "shame" if sports fans chose to do other things with their time? I dont understand why people believe certain groups are "owed" a following. Shouldn't that be earned? The boys AA high school hockey tournament FILLS the X every session, the boys A doesn't not. There is a reason for that, and I hope it is obvious to all the whining sports "fans." True fans get it.
