If Colorado can do it, the nation can do it. All the polls show huge support for background checks.
nrabad says, "If Colorado can do it, the nation can do it. All the polls show huge support for background checks."-------Not that I would expect you to listen to the facts here, but what Colorado did, Connecticut already had in place when Sandy Hook happened....so what exactly do you expect these new laws to actually accomplish?
There are more elements to this as well. The ban of "high capacity magazines" is still on the table. Their are opportunities for small victories even in defeat. I wish they would come up with some meaningful legislation that makes sense for everyone. Removing our rights and freedoms should never be compromised. The GOP has asked illegals to voluntarily export themselves. Likewise the GOP should ask current firearms owners who have mental health issues to voluntarily surrender their firearms! If you own firearms, lock em up, separate your ammo and lock that up too. You can't shoot with certainty in a dark house or from you bed so get rid of the shotgun leaning in your closet and the loaded handgun in the nightstand. Unlocked firearms in your house increase the statistical odds of spousal/familial murder, suicide, being shot by your own firearm and potential theft.
