Interesting how just days ago after saying the GOP is turning over a new leaf they do something like this and show their true colors. We need to vote out the Michelle Bachmann's and Paul Ryan's in Congress to put this country back on track. Look at history when there is such a chasm between the top earners and the bottom and middle economic growth is inhibited. We all benefit when there is not such a disparity, trickle down was an illusion in 1984 and still is today.

A more accurate title for this article would have been GOP passes GOP bill. Remember, the Bush tax cuts were suppose to balance the budget in ten years and that deadline has come and gone with the tax cuts still in place. It should give us an idea of where massive tax cuts lead financially.

Did you know we now have 11 states that actually have more people on welfare than they have employed? Last month, the Senate Budget Committee reports that in fiscal year 2011, between food stamps, housing support, child care, Medicaid and other benefits, the average U.S. household below the poverty line received $168.00 a day in government support. What’s the problem with that much support? Well, the median household income in America is just over $50,000, which averages out to $137.13 a day. To put it another way, being on welfare now pays the equivalent of $30.00 an hour for a 40-hour week, while the average job pays $20.00 an hour.

How long will it be before both sides realize that the majority of the American people want them to work together to come up with a plan...why do both houses of Congress keep voting for budgets that they know will not survive...the House yesterday held two more votes on repealing the Health Care Act (Obamacare)...what a waste of time! And the Senate debated and voted on a budget they know will not pass the House. Do your job and work together to fix the problems.

It would be an empty gesture to have a Senate budget when it will not pass due to the outrageous Republican no-compromise behavior...and it si hilarious that the budget put forward by Ryan IS in fact an empty gesture. How can democrats do anything when republicans refuse to compromise at all?

Really, democrats in the senate - you're not doing your job, folks.-----First let's all review government 101 on what each entity can do-----Only the Senate can approve Presidential appointments (House has no say) Only the Senate ratifies treaties. (House has no say). Only the House can impeach the President, only the senate tries him. All revenue bills (taxation) all appropriations (spending.funding) MUST originate in the House before Senate can pass legislation.

Interesting how the article lays a foundation for massive cuts when the Republican budget merely slows the rate of government growth in programs from 5% to 3% and repeals the ACA (ObamaCare) which the majority of people still oppose to some degree. You only need to look to Medicare to discover the financial mess ObamaCare is going to create. Current retirees receive $3 in benefits paid out for every $1 they paid in during their entire lifetime. It is easy to see why we cannot afford the ACA and we need to restructure Medicare.

Of course the GOP passed the GOP bill and the Senate passed the DEM bill neither is going anywhere.
