Deduno's statistics from the WBC are superior to virtually every starting pitcher on the Twins staff throughout the Spring training season to date. Moreover, the context within which he accomplished this is truly compelling (and more competitive) than the Grapefruit League schedule. It is quite clear that the players in the WBC were going all out and the competitiveness of their approach was high. Twins management needs to think more strategically about the value of this achievement in considering where to begin April with Samuel Deduno. His strikeout-to-walk ratio is also positive, which is a bit of a surprise, given his statistics from last season. My vote is he begins in the starting rotation on April 1.

The only chance the Twins have is if they throw vs dead players. This is the worst staff in major league history.

That's a harsh comment parts - hard to prove that - but, with that being said, I wouldn't doubt the AAA rejects we sent out there last year might actually be better than the 3 FA arms TR invested in this year?
