So who was/were the democrat(s) who made the joke? Elected officials or left wing nuts? The sheriff is in an elected position in this day and age, propriety has to start some place. He is old enough to know better. The big mouths on both sides need to tone it down. I wasn't a fan of Bush's...because of his decisions. But he was the POTUS, same as O...get some respect copper...

When is it enough? Rush was cracking jokes like this about Bill Clinton in the '90s, lefties were doing the same with Bush, and now we are on to Pres. Obama. Yes, we have free speech. That does not mean we should be above showing some class. These people are our leaders like it or hate it and we owe them and OURSELVES more respect then we have given. Will there be a point in our future that we can strive to be better than this or are we destined to the inevitable decay of our society?

Although there were a lot of jokes about Cheney's hunting accident, I don't remember anyone joking about GWB going hunting with him. But if so, I would find them distasteful and inappropriate(and I'm about as liberal as you can get.) But, for the sake of argument, let's say they did. How does other peoples' bad behavior made your bad behavior OK?
