The tragedy in this discussion is the on-going juvenile class warfare rhetoric. Taxing the wealth sounds "faddish" (think late night television) yet carries little finance and/or economic principle. But then, in a pop-culture centric society, where TMZ, Entertainment Tonight and Reality TV are popular, what would one expect. Never discussion on limiting the role, thus the spending of government. Just remember, those who profess their Constitutional rights should also recognize that in a free society, government, at all levels, cannot and should not be all things to all people.

Another attempt to soak more taxes from those already paying the majority of taxes. Will they ever stop?

Here's an idea. Before the state legislature can pass any new taxes, let's require that every legislator will have to bear the same burden on their personal tax returns as the most affected citizens they are looking to tap. You want to raise taxes on the top earners by 30%? Then your taxes will also go up by 30%. I think that would put an end to these children in the legislature that like to try and ransack daddy's wallet whenever they can.

The most disingenuous statement you'll hear all week was if we hadn't cut the high tax rate in the past we wouldn't have to raise rates now. No amount of taxation will ever be enough for the DFL.

Isnt our State sales tax a "temporary" tax implemented in 1967? When is that "temporary" tax supposed to expire?

Yep. Go after those evil rich people. The same people that pay 50% of taxes the state already receives. Long live the State.

St. Croix County is soon to be the fastest growing county in the Upper Midwest. With the new bridge in Stillwater and Wisconsin expanding 94 to 3 lanes in each direction from the River Falls exit to the Baldwin exit it will only make the commute easier.

Why not a story about the top 15% that pay most of the states expenses now? I'm so glad to be leaving after 45 years in My beloved MN.

With Democrats, there is no such thing as a temporary tax. They will just find some other "emergency" when the current reason runs out.
