Nice to see a story with video about my son's classmates and teachers. They're a great group of kids, and the teachers are very good as well. And it's nice to see a positive story about South. That's by far the more realistic portrayal. We've seen a couple of incidents of turmoil, which doesn't accurately represent the reality for 1800 kids, every day of the school year. This is a good example. The teachers in the Open program are doing a great job of inter-relating all the subject matter, and then showing how everything in life connects to it as well. There's no question about the "relevance" of coursework; the relevance is self-evident once you learn how to look and see it. That's what a good education really does for you. It helps you to understand what you encounter in life, put it in context, relate it to everything else, and understand. To regard education as a mere admission token to the job market is the worst trend in education in our lifetime. Good for the South Open program.
