Wide receiver signings give Vikings draft-day flexibility

Even with a pair of first-round picks in next month’s draft and an obvious need to continue reviving the passing attack, the Vikings are not tied down to absolutely selecting a receiver in Round 1

It was dumb to make Joe Webb a QB in the first place. Put him in Percy Harvin's role. He could be better than Percy was. He is as fast as Percy and much much bigger. If you can't find a roll to use his combination of speed, vertical and size somewhere on a football team, you need to get out of coaching. Childress put him as a QB. One of the only positions that he could not use his speed! Go to youtube and watch the videos of him if you have forgotten what a rare athlete he is.

''The GM believes in adhering to a react-but-don’t-reach philosophy'' -- How do you explain Christian Ponder then??

Convert Webb to receiver and get him on the field --- can't make big plays sitting on the bench --- Frazier needs make some sound decisions --- Call up Denny Green or get Bud out of retirement --- tired of not having a real coach.

Signing Jennings and resigning Simpson gives the Vikings draft day flexibility. This is true but adding another weapon at WR would be wise. If they have a shot at Tavon Austin or Keenan Allen in the first round I hope they draft one of them.

They have to take a receiver with one of the top three picks. I know they like wright, but Austin is the closest thing to harvin we can get. Need some of that explosive home run threat back. I would be happy with Austin, Patterson, Allen, Hopkins , or Woods. Any one of those would give us something, would prefer two! I think u take 1-WR in first round, then best DT, LB, or CB with other 1st & 2nd round picks..

In an ideal world, Alec Ogletree and Desmond Trufant are available when we use picks 23 and 25. Then we snag a tackle in the 2nd and hope to goodness that De'Andre Hopkins or Robert Woods is available in the 3rd. It would take some luck but if that happens, i think you're looking at NFC North favorites.

How about Austin and Keenan Allen?

Hmmm... seems to me that Rick Spielman also said, that he'd never trade Harvin. Never never means never does it? Plus a smart GM wouldn't let it be known that he's still thinking about taking a top W.R. in the 1st round. They for sure need to draft a middle linebacker and another cornerback. Wide receivers are a dime a dozen.

sounds like the subterfuge that was blowing about when we had pick #3 last year and we got the #4 pick plus a 2nd round pick (and some change) just by saying we weren't going to pick kalil for sure. spielman is a good businessman. don't like the way he treated winfield, but that's a different topic.

Frazier:Webb is a QB, Webb is a QB, I cannot stop laughing.
