Military beat: Minnesota Humanities Center to recognize vets' work at home

The center is taking nominations for veterans who have returned to civilian life and are thriving and contributing to their communities.It plans to host a “25 Veterans’ Voices” celebration on Sept. 11, 2013.

Just to clarify. Veterans' Voices is an on-going and statewide project of the Minnesota Humanities Center that honors Minnesota veterans through the humanities. The Humanities Center celebrates vets stories, which are often absent, and provides a stage for the future of Minnesota vets. Veterans' Voices is not an awards program. The 25 Veterans' Voices Award is being given out only at our initial celebratory 9-11-13 event.
