Glen Perkins used his brief time with Team USA to pick the mind of one of his heroes in pitching coach Greg Maddux.

I would like to pray for a miracle, and that would be to have Greg Maddux as the Twins pitching coach.

one of the great baseball mysteries is why Greg was so bad in the post season. He was such a magician and i liked watching him pitch but would never pick him in a post season game

Maddux could be the best control pitcher of all time. Getting any advice from the mechanic would be like a God send.

Anderson will do his best to "re-educate" Perkins on his philosophy.

Hopefully Perkins learned more from Perkins and can use it in his arsenal to help shut down the Twins opponents this season....coming from one of the best......

Maddux would not be well received on these boards. Over a 5 ERA his first two years even though very young, 6.1 strikeouts per nine and pitching to contact. That never works.

HMMMM...actually concentrating while on the field? Now that is a novel approach. Hear that Twins pitchers? Good advice!

"one of the great baseball mysteries is why Greg was so bad in the post season. He was such a magician and i liked watching him pitch but would never pick him in a post season game". Kills me. Postseason ERA was more than half a run better than Jack Morris. His world series ERA was almost a full run better than Morris. He also had 4 more postseason wins than Morris. You can't control how your offense does against the other pitcher. He was 0-2 against Florida in the WS with a 1.38 ERA. I would happily take Maddux in a postseason game.

Greg Maddux was helped by umpires who made his home plate 23 inches wide. That's what reputation does for you.
