#1 seed in the Final Five always plays the Friday night game. NOT THIS YEAR! WCHA pays alittle favor for the Gophers. Fair? Not to St. Cloud at all. But trust me, the Gophers will need all the help and crowd support they can get when the Sioux play them Friday.

Hey siouxchamp, this isn't the first time the #1 seed doesn't play at night on Friday and as a St. Cloud fan I'm OK with that. If St. Cloud wins Friday they get a little more time to heal and also scout their Sat night opponent. Back before the WCHA went to 12 teams it wasn't fair to the play-in winner to have to turn around and play at 2:00 vs the #1 seed if MN was #2 or #3 but since the tourney is 6 teams now it works. Thursday afternoon play-in winners play in the afternoon on Friday, Thursday night play-in winners play at night Fridy.

Once again Susie fan got it wrong. The WCHA,, for financial reasons, schedules the team that is geographically closest to play at night. I agree with Waterlover, I would rather play in the afternoon. It will be real interesting next year to see what kind of crowds you get at the Target center. It seems to me the only time many of the current WCHA teams sell out is when the Gophers come to town. Don't get me wrong I am not excited about the Big Ten conference, but I sure won't miss the cry baby Susies who are already making excuses before they even play the game. I will be cheering for Mankato and on Friday anyway, St Cloud.
