Tax-forfeit land up for grabs in Northfield

The City Council has submitted a request to Rice County for the abandoned tracts.

All city councils are controlled by real estate people. It seems like one of them has an angle here because at a mere $326K, that puts just about anyone in a position to bid on that land, although I suspect that will only be the starting bid. Regardless, unless the city wants to make it into a park, public money should simply stay out of it, the market will clear if we allow it to.

Sweet. Farmer sold land for $1M. Developer is bust. Farmer buys land back for 1/2 of value.
