I never want to underestimate Michele Bachmann because she is a tough candidate, she certainly knows the 6th district voters well. The problem with her running against Franken statewide is that he appears to be a much better senator than many Minnesotans expected.

Please, nominate Bachmann. Kline and Paulsen would at least be credible candidates and might have a chance to win. Bachmann would explode.

Maybe, but I hope people remember him and Amy and Obamacare and the medical device tax. Not sure if you know, but the medical device industry is very important to Minnesoat, and you are going to see some very negative ramifications from these two deep thinker and their liberal agenda.

I would worry about anybody who believes Michele Bachmann could win a state-wide race.

I thought we passed a law against sand for Franken or fracking or something like that. Either way, it should be stopped.

It is worth noting that both Klobuchar and Franken are against the medical device tax and would like to see that portion of the Affordable Care Act repealed.

Great article that underscores the devastating impact the Tea Party is having on the Republicans, and by extension the whole political landscape. By nominating fruitcakes like O'Donnell, Angle and the last elections crop of clowns who couldn't shut up about rape, the far-right extremists have pushed out anyone who'd have not only a fighting chance, but probably a good chance of beating some incumbent Dems. Talk about cutting off one's nose to spite one's face. I miss the days of sensible Repubs like Durenberger, Boschwitz and Carlson. Any one of those three would have given Franken all he could handle in a statewide Senate race.

From someone who votes GOP, I can tell you right now a Bachmann versus Franken race would mean almost guaranteed giving Franken another term. Many people who vote GOP would have a hard time voting for her. A hint to the GOP party insiders, nominate electable candidates! You can do so without compromising your principals, just look at what the GOP party in Wisconsin has done. By picking such far right wing candidates, the party is guaranteed a spot as the state's minority party for a while.

"The Truth" commented that both Kloubuchar and Franken are against the medical device tax. They knew the tax was in there when they voted for Obamacare - anyone who paid any attention to the news knew that tax was in there. Yet they still voted for it. Either one of them could have refused to vote for Obamacare unless that tax was removed, as there wasn't a vote to spare. They both caved in, but now you are coming to their rescue saying they are against the tax. They both pulled a "John Kerry" - I voted for it before I voted against it.

Who's more of an embarrassment to MN, Franken or Bachmann. Personally, I would say Franken, but its a toss up.
