No one knows if Christian Ponder is legit. That’s why Matt Cassel signed.

PATRICK..You are absolutely tight.They have Jennings and I said earlier if Ponder can get him the ball it would be a good trade.....not going to happen. I said all along he is not the answer....time to step up but it will not happen this coming year.

Give Ponder some folks to throw to, meaning draft another receiver in the 1st round and another in the middle rounds. Then, if Ponder can't cut it, get somebody else (I'd draft Tyler Bray myself). All Ponder wants is a fair chance before we all go rushing to judgement. This year should do it.

my old grandmother thinks ponder is a nice young lad and wants him to succeed. granny and i don't see eye to eye on this one: his lack of arm strength and lack of accuracy aren't going to improve to the level of a starter in this league even if his decision making gets much better. good quarterbacks make average receivers look good-who has ponder ever made look good? cassel knows he has a great opportunity to start here. forget about ponder, let's hope cassel turns out to be good enough!

i love the off season moves so far it still bugs me that we dont have a proven star at qb the most important position on the team.this will be the year we decide if ponder is the man.if he isnt than lets target one in next years draft and move up to get him if need be by trading picks or players or both.

All I know is what I saw in Ponder's last game. He played great against the Packers. He will be given more weapons, and this will be his make or break season. If he plays like he did in the final week of last season, the Vikes will be fine. If he goes back to the Ponder of the middle of the season, then by all means, put Cassell under center. I will be fine with that also. I'm a Viking fan. I am all about what ever makes the team better. I have been a hardcore fan since the mid 70's. I have seen players come and go. I couldn't care less about demoting a player in favor of another if it makes the Team better. GO VIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I watched the Vikings/Packers week 17 game again and came away with these 3 opinions. Ponder looked better than I remembered. Percy wasn't missed. Greg Jennings was the best WR for the Packers.

WHOA horsie!!!!!Everybody who knows football know Ponder is a first round bust. He was just rated 58th out of 70 NFL QBs. If you still need more time to figure out he's a bust you have to be delusional.
