In this condensed season with mercurial ebbs in the standings, the Wild must stay even-keeled.

Interesting read Chip, I enjoyed your poster. You know Chip, the media is a really easy on this Minnesota Wild team, example, In New York the Yankees are expected to make the playoffs and win the world series every year, why ? because they spend so much more than other teams, That is what the Wild do Chip, they are tops in the league in player purchases, yet nothing but love by the media, its all a big rose garden ! ...... Do you know if the playoffs were to start today the Wild would not be in them Chip ?.... The Wild will get beat by Colorado on Saturday afternoon Chip, when does someone call our Yankees out for not producing Chip, they spend 14 million dollars more that the Avalanche. Something has to give. Allot of praise for an organization whose new ownership has yet to get the team to the postseason

Interesting post MKIA..Why so much negativity about Leipold?? Our club has never looked so promising since it came here in 2000. Fletch has done a great job of assembling an amazing team, with great chemistry. Our talent pool is loaded with young players at Houston, and scattered around in minors. ie Lucia, Dumba, etc. Leipold opened his wallet more in the short time he has owned it than the previous regime, yet you always like to rip the current owner/gm.. You keep comparing us to the Yankees, when they have a hockey team too that spent a wad and is under producing.. Us Wild faithful know about our prospects that were coming for years and we have waited patiently for the pieces to fall in place as they are now.. Quit wit the negativity already and enjoy the makings of a team that will prosper and grow together. Old regime did nothing to build a franchise!!! Look at the foundation now.. Fletch has drafted better in the last 2-3 yrs than old regime did their entire time here.. D.R. was the Matt Millen of hockey, and set us back for years!! Fletch has laid the groundwork for competitive pro hockey for 13+ years...Enjoy!!!!

According to NHL.com they are 10th in the West so they would not make the playoffs. The fastest way to explain my position is look at the Timberwolves, fans respected the Wild during the DR and JL years for the foundation they laid from the ground up, they looked at the history of the North Stars and decided they did not want that path. What does the new owner do ? Go down that same path.... I don't believe it matters that you spend the most money or have the biggest names, especially if your playing on an 85 x 200 sheet of ice. The old ownership was on the right path and I have always said that whomever the next owner is will return to those roots....... Fans are fixated on this idea of draft picks and talent, so were the North Stars until Bob Clarke and Bob Gainey straightened things out some..... The old North Stars, this Wild team and the Timberwolves were all on the same page..... I hope that answers your question puckheads. Draft pick update so far, Zooker and Brodin (Stop) Nothing proven beyond that .... If you like Coyle, even if he has no results and Seto for Burns, your happy with that trade. I would argue its too soon to judge that trade

MKIA, the Yankees buy their championships period..Quit comparing us to them. Riseboroughs poor drafting, and mediocre free agent signings set us back YEARS!!!!We are still trying to purge his terrible contracts, and get some promising prospects in the pipeline!!That is a fact!! File it and accept it. When you realize that Fact, you will accept the last G.M. was as bad as Mchale, and Millen!!NHL experts have NEVER had our teams prospect pool rated this high, even going back to the North Stars days..fact. Twolves have only drafted 1 or 2 studs, Garnett and Love in 25 years, and have never added the big stud in free agency... Ever!! Accept the fact if D.R. was gm we would not have Suter, Parise, Brodin, and a stocked cupboard!! Those are facts you can't argue about. Our cupboard was the worst in the NHL when Fletch took over, and if he don't stock it with a talented prospect pool Zach wouldn't be here, Suter either.. Quit picking at the scabs and let the new owner/gm heal the wounds of an up and coming franchise..

Puckheads, the disconnect your having is not arriving at the core importance, ask the twolves and the old north stars. The Wild our the Yankees of the NHL because they are trying to buy their way to the playoffs.... DR needed help, a guy like Fletch would have been great for DR, that was not happening as the nature of business does not support a new owner coming in and loving what was in the old, out with the old and in with the new. I will leave a legacy !...... I have not looked but the Blues have the lowest payroll in the whole shooting match and probably are doing better than the Wild and without any of the key players because they are hurt

MKIA the Wild are not the Yankees of the NHL!!! The Yankees spend 2-3 times more than everyone else, and have been for many years. They have the biggest market in North America!! Your arguments are getting silly. My gut tells me you are, or are related to D.R. and that is why you have been sticking up for him since he was jettisoned.. No Leipold=No Fletch=No prospects=No Zach=No Suter= No payday on my 20-1 vegas bet for 2K stanley cup win.. Go Wild!!
