By "survive the current troubles," do you mean as with the same personnel as this recording? I believe it's already too late. The damage has been done, thanks to the current management and board. At least there's a record of how they sounded during this time.

Yes, the damage has been done. And given that management and board seem to be fine with somewhere around 40 percent of the current orchestra members packing their bags and heading somewhere else, it does not seem likely that the new orchestra will be able to "gel" quickly enough to repeat the amazing sound found on both of these CDs. I cannot believe how short-sighted and destructive these people are.

Our Minnesota Orchestra is booked by invitation to play all seven Sibelius symphonies at Carnegie Hall in four concerts in November of this year and April of next year. This is because ours is the BEST!!! But they are not good enough for the management here in MN. This is just rank injustice.
