Your republican-led Congress at work, folks. Make no mistake about it - the Obama administration and Senate have consistently made concessions to compromise during the president's first time, while the tea-party led republicans refused to negotiate unless utter disaster (fiscal cliff) and the polls forced them to come to the table. Get rid of ignorant maniacs like Michele Bachmann so we can start working towards a better America again. (Hear me, 6th district?)

I know of many airports that have commercial air service but have no control tower, and have never had a tower. None of them has had a major accident and absolutely no loss of life. I guess it is to be expected though that when the trough starts to run dry, those that feed at it the most will always find a reason we should keep feeding them, valid or not. Doomsday is not coming because of this!

This is just insane. How many people sare going to be shaking in there boots as they come in for a landing knowing there is no one in the tower to maonitor the landing. How are pilots supposed to know what other traffic is in the area. It will be a free-for-all taxiing to the runway. Biggest aircraft wins. Thanks, Repubs for this wonderful gift.

The Republicans outrageous conduct over the past 4 years have broken our political system that is predicated on compromise. Now they have reached the point where their desperate quest to regain power at the expense of doing the people's business is actually threatening the safety of the people. The Republicans must be made to stop their assault on our well being. We need to flood every Republican office holder with messages that we have had enough...their agenda of austerity is not the answer and the pain they are causing is way out of proportion to any benefit it would provide over the balanced approach to the debt/deficit that the Administration ran on and is backed by the people. The Republicans lost the election and refuse to do the will of the people. They have turned themselves into an irrelevant entity and just need to go away....hopefully before the next election when they will experience the full wrath of the people.

This is just another one of BO's tricks to lay blame on the Republicans and make it hard on the average Joe who wants to fly to see his mother in Kansas. BO couldn't care less about average Joe. It's all about him and his desire to turn this country into a socialist type of government, you know, the nanny state. As I understand it, the sequester part for the FAA merely sets the spending back to the 2008 level and during that time, the FAA had more employees than they do now. This is just grandstanding and BO is taking a big risk. If something bad happens, he is hopping that it will be blamed on the Republicans and not him. Good luck with that.

This is just the govt making it as painful as possible just to show you they need more $$. Just like the state shutdown, they can selectively cut as needed. But the feeling is to make it as draconian as possible on the peasants.

LOL, more doom and gloom, we are all going to die...oh wait, maybe slice a few multi million dollar tax payer funded parties in vegas? Better yet bounce that check we sent to our enemy Egypt, will cover and then some gravy for the bloated FAA?

Obama has been screaming that the sky is falling. He was the one who wanted the sequestration. Emails have also been leaked that Obama wanted this to be as painful as possible. Which people are now hopefully starting to realize that it was Obama that caused this. So while the government is shutting down everything they can to cause pain, Obama is golfing, we are giving money to Egypt and Mrs Obama is having her big birthday party

The tpgop will never acknowledge a problem until it effect themselves. When they are standing in line at the security gate for an hour because TSA agents have been cut, they will blame Obama, not Grover Norquist. When, God forbid, the first accident happens due to the shutting down of towers, they'll do the same. The real shame is the very real ignorance of these people who think they're protecting their liberties and living according to the Constitution, when, in fact, they are doing the work of the billionaire, anti-tax lobbyists who formed the TP.

Hopefully the sequester is just the start. The Federal Government needs to shrink. Every department should get across the board cuts and they should start eliminating many of them. People forget that the original concept was to have a "limited" federal government.
