This would be a perfect fit for a firing squad. Casey James Fury also was ordered to pay $400 million in restitution...you ain;t never gonna see that pay off.

You would think the DoD would do a better job vetting contractor employees for such assignments. Maybe this is a wakeup call?

BVMann, I agree. How they could put some immature young man like this guy in a multibillion dollar asset of the US Navy is beyond me. Those boats are some of the most highly classified vessels in the US inventory. Not only did he cause several hundred million in damage to the sub, think of the cost of all the other issues related to its damage. That has got to be the highest restitution amount ever handed down to anyone. Let's see, 17 years at 365.25 days per year = 6209.25 days divided into 450,000,000 = $72,472.52/day he has to work off. Good luck with that bud! Was it worth it?
