I'm hoping McLeod John Baltazar Bethel-Thompson (The Law Firm) develops into a starting role. That guy has an arm.

Getting Jennings would be a huge plus for the team. Need him to stretch the field and his leadership is huge. I heard Jared Allen was at the table to tackle Jennings incase he tried to get away. Now get it done guys and sign the man! It will take the sting out of trading away Percy.

After a sound and strategic 2011-2012 off-season, there is a strong desire to have confidence in the workings of the Vikings brass. However, the majority of this early portion of the 2013 off-season is confusing at best. Refusing to get into insane bidding wars on flashy but less-than-can't-miss guys like Wallace is wise, but the pursuit of players like Jennings and Urlacher is troubling. If the available FAs at WR this year were weak (they were/are) then why not stand pat, pursue some affordable defensive talent (shaun phillips, Sean Smith, Glenn Dorsey, Brent Grimes or others) knowing that you have a bevy of draft picks to spend on young WRs? Paying Greg Jennings after the season he just had is odd - he only went over 100 yds once (against the Vikes) and 50 yds twice. Not against Jennings, but against paying him like Harvin (about 10m/yr) or Wallace (think 11m/yr?) or even Welker (about 6m/yr). Victor Cruz is a far more attractive WR at this point of his career and is every bit the positive role model/locker room guy that Jennings would be. I'd prefer to see them pass on this guy, find some bargains that remain with defensive guys listed above and then use 2-3 picks in the draft, targeting guys like C.Patterson, T.Austin or Deandre Hopkins first round, J.Hunter or D.Rogers 2nd Rd, and/or guys like Q.Patton, Marquise Goodwin and C. Harper in the 3rd.

There was no sting whatsoever from trading the troubled Percy Harvin. A whining malcontent is always better when he is anyone else's problem. Percy trade equals great joy. Signing Jennings, helps the team quite a bit if it happens. Jennings will play more games and impat the team positively. Likely to never scream at or try to choke his coaches. Jennings will follow direction and run sprints. Jennings if injured, wont abandon his team and leave town. Not sure if there is one single thing that will stand out about Jennings over Harvin, or just everything. A guy who plays for and with the team. Refreshing. Lets hope we add a classy wide receiver. We just thankfully cut ties with the face of what is wrong with much of todays youth. Things can only get better now and in Aprils draft.

Why didn't the Vikings draft a back-up quarterback and still get rid of Webb? Why spend the money? Yes, signing Jennings would be a good bet. I still have hope on the wide receivers (Wright are you listening) they drafted last year but they still might want to draft receivers again this year. Also, it would be fun to see Thompson play for awhile he showed me his arm last year in preseason and he looked like a quarterback that can play. Well Vikings, get your things in order and I guess I will wait to see how you do.

I understand why Jared is out to dinner... everyone loves hanging out with Jared. But how about Christian being there too. These are the 2 that have to show there's chemistry between them. Percy's gone because of the lack of it.

I have no problem if the vikes sign Jennings. 30 isn't all that old and he has pleny left in him. Steve Smith in Carolina is 36 and he is still their #1 wr and he had a couple injury plagued seasons and he is still producing at a high level. Maybe Jennings can give Ponder some hints he learned from Aaron Rogers, not bad to have a veteran wr to work with a young QB.

SO, if it truely is the Vikings or Packers, why would Jenning choose the Vikings?

I think the only reason Jennings goes to the Vikings instead of the Packers is because the Vikings give him more money. That simple. Jennings is really in a position of power here. He's established and you don't need to trade assets for him before you sign him. The rest of that crowd is signed. If we go to the draft without Jennings everyone knows what we'll be drafting and rookie wide receivers need time to develop. Jennings would be helpful with that too. It's a situation where you just overpay a wide receiver. That's what other teams have been doing for years now. We lost 2 good wide receivers to Seattle because of that. It's the norm now for wide receivers. Overpay or get out of the way.
