Is it time to ban shotguns also, or should we look a little harder on mental health issues???

sheriff44 is right, we should focus harder on mental health issues of those who want to purchase firearms. Very few people would argue that shotguns should be banned. But every person who purchases a shotgun (or any firearm) should be subject to an intensive, invasive, rigorous mental health examination, at their own expense (not Obamacare!). Guns are a right in this country, but with every right comes responsibility. While we are implementing that, we also need a database of every firearm in America, and if you're caught with one that isn't registered, you lose it immediately. Couple that with a complete and retroactive ban on assault weapons and 10+ round clips, and I believe we solve the problem of gun violence in America. It's nice to see that gun-rights activists as well as gun-violence groups have come together to find common ground and sensible solutions.
