The free-agent offensive tackle always wanted to stay with the Vikings.

We're glad too Phil. You're a solid player, an anchor, a leader, a role model. Best of luck in the new season!

Take some pointers from Matty Kalil, Phil. Block baby block.

Loadholt is one of the top half-dozen right tackles overall, and (by some accounts) the best run blocker in the league, which is all the more important for a team that is built around the running game. Plus (unlike a certain former LT) nobody questions his work ethic, and (unlike a certain former WR) he wants to be here. Glad he got his money.

A $25 million dollar pylon, but oh well he's a very nice man and will fit in with the 4H club Team Frazier wants.

His is the kind of attitude and maturity that you want influencing tomorrow's young draft picks ... unlike one former WR. What an amazing contrast.

Would be great to see the Vikings draft a player like Barret Jones of Alabama in the second or third round if he's available. Projections have him going from the late 2nd to 4th round. He'd give them a player that has excelled at all three positions on the line. Plus that shove he gave his QB at the end of the National Championship is the attitude I like. $6M + for Loadholt? I think too much, but it is what it is. Just my thoughts.

Extending Loadholt's contract??!!? Who's making these decisions? Do they pay a premium for linemen who can execute the "False Start" and "Holding" penalties flawlessly??

It's easy to say a lineman is a great run blocker when Adrian is the running back. I'm glad they retained him don't get me wrong, but 6.25Mil per is overpaying especially with all of the holding, false start penalties and his inability to pass block any sort of speed rusher

Maybe the big load will do something so the rest of us can relax.
