Once again, those ubiquitous "state privacy laws" prohibit discussion of X, Y and/or Z.

When you try to force integration you'll be left with segragation. This program had little chance of success from the start but it made a lot of people "feel good" at he time.

On the contrary, FAIR schools, both downtown and at Crystal, are thoroughly integrated. Additionally, the curriculum has addressed issues of race and class in a forthright way. I have two children who have attended FAIR schools, and they are the better for it. This program, far from having had "little chance of success at the start," has been one of the great success stories of the public school system. This is a program that is so successful that applicants far exceed available spaces in the Minneapolis lottery program for public schools.

Only a 2 day suspension? Seems to be a pretty light punishment. I think in a lot of places of employment those things would be grounds for dismissal.

$3,000 a week for an interim superintendent??? I think I've discovered the problem with the school system and it's budget issues!

Bates enables and trivializes the criticized conduct when she excuses it as explained by "stress." That's really troubling coming from one of the Board members who is supposed to be protecting staff and the District against Bennett's conduct and the work environment it creates.

Another great use of tax payer dollars. Nice way to waste our money and make people believe they are actually doing something.

It is an entirely appropriate use of taxpayer dollars, on several levels. When those in power fail, they ought to be investigated, and, when appropriate, reprimanded. What is the alternative? Schools are only as good as the people inside. FAIR schools will continue to be examples of creative and innovative ways to educate our children, despite the shortcomings of some high level staff.

Its just more of the same, over and over again. Liberals in charge of schools, from your local board, your superintendants, to your MEA and NEA and you will continue to get high cost, low benefit and low accountability results. And if you gripe too loudly to them they will call the police and have you slapped with a permanent trespass order.

If FAIR is truly integrated, explain to me again why MPS was wanting to pull out of the district due to a lack of integration? Sadly, at one time FAIR had potential, but now it is clear, like MPS, they hire administrators who are in way over their competence level and the potential that was there suffers due to bad decision making. Clearly, Bennett knew all the right things to say to the right people for a certain amount of time - now it looks like the jig is up.
