You have to appreciate the irony of Rupp's comments. The guy is paid to get in fist fights but he doesn't want a visor because he'd have to take his helmet off and thus risk a head injury.

I agree with hauts81, it's weird. How about banning fighting like every other sport? I really do think the day is coming when it will seem crazy players played with unprotected faces, just as it seems nuts now that they used to play without helmets.

Why are both Houston goaltenders staying here where neither is playing much? And Backstrom playing back to back?

24 games in and the proof is in the pudding. Coyle and Zucks are clearly NHL ready. They're physically able to hold their own and delivering results. They've earned their roster sposts. I'll give Granlund an "A" for courage as he's tried to get physical with some big boys, but he's not NHL ready. He's too slow, weak, and his reactions are not quick enough. He's a skill player who's got to be an F on one of the top 2 lines. His play is improved, but he's not ready for top 2 time. His skills are not going to develop playing 3rd/4th line minutes and situations, or sitting as a healthy scratch. Anybody remember what happened to James Sheppard? Granlunds ceiling is high, real high. But, if he's going to reach that ceiling, he needs 1st line minutes in Houston to develop and mature his game. He needs to get stronger, faster, quicker and get more experience in 1st line minutes and situations in Houston. It's where he needs to be right now. Can the Wild really afford for another 1st round pick to flounder? His, and a lot of the Wild, futures depend on him developing correctly.

webcelt- Because Kuemper got hurt. You can't send down an injured player. As soon as he is healthy one of them will go down.
