Free agency: Bargains and busts

Unlike the NBA, the NFL and its teams frown on their best players skipping from town to town while in the prime of their careers. So it’s worth understanding that the best players slated for this year’s free agency already have been taken off the market through franchise tags and multi-year deals in advance of Tuesday’s kickoff.

Go get Keenan Lewis and Ray Maaluga!! Resign Percy, Loadholt, and Erin Henderson. Look for a WR in the draft and among the lower level free agents. Draft OL, guard or tackle. If a good RT is available consider drafting him and move Loadholt to RG. I agree that Lewis and Maaluga and Vasquez may be worth spending on. Most of the big names FA are not worth the money you'd have to pay.

I like the strategy of building through the draft. I hate overpaying for some of these guys. But it will be difficult to solidify every position we need through the draft in one year. I would love to make one good signing: ILB, G, WR, etc. Can't we just buy one, Mom. Please! Please!
