Rain, melting snow flood roads in Mankato area

Southbound Highway 169 between Highways 14 in Mankato and 22 in St. Peter was closed to traffic Saturday afternoon because of flooding, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reported. Flooding also closed Highway 66 in both directions between Blue Earth County Rd. 35 in the Good Thunder area and Highway 169 near Mankato.

I thought we were in a drought. How can we have flooding? That section never floods unless there is a lot of rain or the ground is saturated.

Hey Supervon it's kinda hard for the water to get into the ground when it's frozen
