I don;t know anyone who understands economics who would want to take credit for this economy. You media folk and team Obama just keep on telling us what you think we need to hear if it makes you feel better.

2.8 million jobs were actually LOST in Jan. 2013 (100,000 more job losses than in Jan. 2012), but the Obama administration through the magic of "seasonal adjustments" converted that into a gain of 119,00 jobs. How many layoffs have you read about recently? JC Penny is cutting over 2,200 more workers, on top of the thousands they already cut, including some assistant store managers that make middle-class incomes. Boston Scientific is cutting 1,000 jobs, and they are not the only medical device company slashing jobs to pay for new Obamacare taxes. Best Buy just LAID-OFF 400 workers the other week, with more job cuts to come. Banks are cutting thousands of jobs. Wall Street is cutting thousands of jobs--HIGH paying jobs. GDP growth was NEGATIVE (slightly negative at a preliminary -0.10%) for the fourth quarter of 2012. How is it possible the job market is adding hundreds of thousands of jobs every month when economic growth is negative and mass layoffs are occurring all over the place? Through the magic of "seasonal adjustments". Take the actual number of jobs created, such as the -2,800,000 in Jan. 2013, then do a seasonal adjustment adding back 2,919,000 imaginary jobs created--and voila!--Obama has shown impressive job growth that does not actually exist. The Obama administration has mastered the manipulation of the media through the magic of "seasonal adjustments". Why? Because only the "seasonally adjusted" number is reported by the media, not the ACTUAL number. For the ACTUAL number of jobs created or lost, you have to do your own research because the liberal media isn't going to provide you that information. They do not want you to know.

What makes us middle class folk feel better is that the economy was going down the toilet four years ago with the Dow around 7,000 and private companies shedding 750,000 jobs a month. Now the Dow is double what it was and companies have turned that jobs number around by a million jobs per month to the good. Those are the accomplishments of the Obama administration despite fierce GOP attempts to drag him AND the economy down. You may not like the facts, but those ARE the facts.

windigolake, Check out the business section and the poll regarding finances. In the third paragraph it states that Minnesota is doing much better than the national average regarding job growth with only 16,000 job losses since Obama has taken office. If you really want to believe that things are so ducky that;s fine. Me, I don;t like being lied to. Oh and the Dow, great, it;s back to where it was under the previuos administration so I see it as four years of no growth. All this great news at the bargain price of just north of six trillion dollars....oh joy.

The simple idea that the Government could reign in spending is going to give Americans and business hope. Otherwise, the excess money that the government borrow and has to eventually pay back will continue to drag this economy into the abyss. Our state had fewer losses because we kept the spending down-let us NOT let the DFL'ers drive business and oppertunity away by taxing us into ruin.

No one in Washington gets credit for the falling yet high unemployment rate, or the record DOW.

Funny how we don't see a lot of those posts asking "where are the job creators?" anymore. Meanwhile, without a hint of irony, every politician under the sun is crawling out from under their rock to try to take credit for current conditions. I am speechless.

" Funny how we don't see a lot of those posts asking "where are the job creators?" anymore." If they're creating jobs, great! Probably the higher taxes that made them realize that more employees can increase profits and the salaries and benefits are DEDUCTIBLE. Win-Win!
