Aaron Hicks, for one, clearly has made an impression in center.

Complete apathy for this years team..was in Jupiter when the Twins visted...with a line up of "who is that"?...Major league ticket prices for a Triple A team...aka Ripoff"....

So..Escobar and Carroll are both steadier with the glove and have hit better than Dozier but Dozier remains the favorite? How the he## can that be??

I think Phil forgot about Hendriks in the rotation. I like his chances better than Gibson, who should start in AAA. Hendriks has nothing more to prove in AAA.

Not mentioned here, Hicks also scored easily on a single from second base, where he got such a huge jump that he could have jogged to steal third if the batter didn't swing. Hicks shows excellent anticipation as a baserunner, and with his speed, he's going to score a lot of runs. Twins should make a statement with Aaron Hicks. Stick him in CF and leave him there. This kid's a player!

You all keep whining, and in September, I'll remind you of what bandwagon freaks you all are. This team will be good, and it'll gain momentum as the year goes on and starters get healthier and healthier and more and more experienced. I do believe Carroll should bat second behind Hicks, and if Dozier proves himself in Rochester, then bring him back up. But this team can score, it can play above average defense, its bullpen should be solid once again, and as these starters get healthier and the young guys get mileage, this team will get better and better as the year goes on. Keep whining. I'll be here to remind you of it in September. :)

Notably absent in the comments this spring: All the second guessers. But then, how can you second-guess when the season hasn't begun? Must be killing them, waiting for April.

I think Pelfrey could be a pleasant surprise here, like Pavano was in his breakout first Twins year. Worley is good, should be the number 1 guy. Diamond is solid too, he could win 10 games again. After that, things get rocky. Let's be honest, we need a strong staff to compete, and we ain't got it. That said, if the offense can win enough games to put the Twins in contention in July, maybe they can add an arm. If not, things will go bad, but don't fret - those young arms we got in those off-season deals aren't far away.

The sad fact is the Twins are so thin up the middle that Dozier's gonna win the job by default. Personally I'd take Escobar over Dozier if it stays this way, because I like Carroll's versatility and he's valuable as a flexible spot starter nearly everywhere. This is Dozier's 2nd chance to become an every day big leaguer. He failed the first time, things not looking much different now either.

Second Guessers...Not much to second guess about. Look at this team and who runs it, facts speak for themselves.
