Jury awards $8 million-plus in hip implant suit against Johnson & Johnson's DePuy subsidiary

LOS ANGELES - A jury Friday awarded $8.3 million to a former prison guard who accused Johnson & Johnson's DePuy Orthopaedics subsidiary of knowingly marketing a faulty hip implant that was later recalled.

Another example of "Jurors Gone Wild" For that amount he can hire four men to carry him around in a sedan chair for the rest of his life. The good thing though is appeals will kill or slice the award. But the lawyers will still make money. Suits are supposed to make victims "whole," not multimillionaires.
