The utopians won't agree but this is a good plan. The "gun free zone" is a failure.
The utopians won't agree but this is a good plan. The "gun free zone" is a failure. - Hmmmm, my gun free zone is working splendidly. And come to think of it, all the "gun free zones" I frequent also are working quite well. Yours aren't?
And when the first incident happens where a student get accidentally shot, or a teacher has their gun stolen by a student, I'll try not to say "I told you so." Or, like Dr. Sheldon Cooper, I could end up saying "I informed you thusly." Either way.
An excellent solution, as they basically just removed prohibitions and gave the decision back to the local school district. This is exactly what needs to happen with a lot of issues surrounding a local public school- get the sate and feds out of the loop completely and let the people decide for their own children what education to provide and how to accomplish it. Bill G.
jgmancini- of course, there will be instances where the known presence of guns deters a situation, but unless the perp broadcasts that fact, we will never know. Bill G.
What would you expect from some dust-strewn wasteland with a prime export of tumbleweeds that has a total population of less than a million people?
My prediction: Next shooting at a public school (non-college) happens in South Dakota. Such a bad, bad decision.
May we never have to find out how well this plan works.
It's odd -- but the folks who favor arming teachers are the same folks who offer the profession very little respect otherwise, and in fact disparage teachers as leftist tools of the state.
This can only end badly.
