In spite of everything the current federal and state administration is doing to thwart economic growth they cannot totally kill the American economy.

Just think how good the economy would be right now if republicans actually cared about it, and the people of this country, instead of just being hell-bent on destroying Obama. Obstruction, filibuster, stall - don't they ever get tired of being pathetic?

Or maybe it's the GOP/Tea party efforts driving the improvement? Perhaps voters knew what they were doing returning the House GOP with a solid majority for 2013-4.......... The sequester doom and gloom predictions surely were DOA on 3/1/13. This massive govt borrowing and spending has to end. There is no money tree, and we have to take our medicine even if it means a slower economy ahead.

Economy adds jobs even though the State and Feds cut bugdets? Don't you think it is because there have been some budget cuts that people are more confident?

Law star...you made me LOL. Minnesota has been a high tax state for decades and yet has had significantly lower unemployment than the country. Likewise Minneapolis is one of the highest tax rates in the state and yet is seeing population increases and the largest influx of private building projects ever.....when will you and other conservatives realize that low taxes are not the only priority (or even a top priority) of businesses and citizens.

goferfanz: "The sequester doom and gloom predictions surely were DOA on 3/1/13." So you really think that one week is enough to judge the effects of sequester? The far right really shows a complete lack of understanding of the economy. These hiring results are from last month. Watch how the right will get its way to bring down the economy as jobs are lost due to the GOP sequester in the next couple of months.

Wait a minute. So tax hikes on the wealthy don't impact job creation as much as Republicans want us to believe? Weird.

The GOP House would also do well to remind the public that almost 5 million jobs have been created since they took power in 1/2011. That is the correct number and date, right? 5 million....new.....jobs....It's unlike MN = turning out the state GOP after an impressive 2 year run in the legislature. Now, the Dems arrive and its marriage and guns and health exchanges-->rather than the economy. It wont end well locally.
