Someone needs to dredge a channel from Fargo to White Bear Lake. Maybe then we could get rid of the endless flooding/drought/water shortage articles. Is there really nothing else to report on?

What's more tiring ... the annoying flood report articles or the over-the-top gripes from whiners in regards to the annoying flood report articles? Newsflash: people live near water where there is potential disaster in the entire world. With the exception of Minneapolis, apparently.

Really? The Bloomington Ferry Bridge might be closed? That must be one heck of a flood, considering that highway 169 is now about 100 feet above the water.

And so it begins. The annual spring river flooding stories do get a bit old. Everyone should understand by now that when you channel all of the water for hundreds of square miles into 1 small river channel, and then build right up next this river channel, you will experience flooding each and every spring. It happens EVERY year. Next up: the annual story about how much workplace productivity is lost because of the March Madness NCAA basketball tourney.

Maybe draining all the sloughs and installing drainage tile in all the reclaimed farmland wasn't such a keen idea.
