Vail to sink $10 million into upgrades for Afton Alps

The Colorado company plans improvements in snowmaking and also plans to create terrain parks with new features.

This sounds great! The facilities are a 'bit' dated. They can certainly use some upgrades. Looking forward to them. I wonder if this opens the door to having the 24-hours of Afton mountain bike racing there again?

It would be great if they threw some of that cash at off road cycling. Most of the TC trails lack the elevation that is needed for good trails. Cycling has become a year round activity, whereas DH skiing is at most 5 months a year.

Look out Hyland Ski Area! Better start investing in your old ski chalet if you want to compete with the big boys from Vail.

Would the Star Tribune report that the State was going to "sink" 10 million dollars in facilities for special education? Or would the Star Tribune report that the City of Minneapolis was going to "sink" thousands of dollars in drinking fountains?
