FORT MYERS, FLA. – Scott Diamond made 27 starts in 2012, and that led the Twins by 10. Diamond pitched 173 innings and led the Twins by 64. Diamond had a 3.54 ERA, and that was 2.32 runs lower than the cumulative total (5.86) for the pitchers making the other 135 starts.

Any kind of injury with this team should be a concern. The horrible medical staff employed by the team is just as inept as the rest of the organization.

Would it be wrong to rename the Twins pitching rotation and start calling it Pitching Merry-go-Round?

Gardy couldn't comment on Hicksie or Boggsie until he finished his onesie...or was it a twosie?...Regardless, he was getting after it and shooting the fire out of it, but NOT fun to watch!

12/21/12 3:49 PM ET ATLANTA -- Minor League pitcher Billy Bullock has been suspended 50 games without pay following a second violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Bullock was acquired from the Twins in exchange for Rule 5 Draft selection Scott Diamond just before the start of the 2011 season. The 24-year-old reliever has struggled during his first two seasons with the Braves. He compiled a 6.34 ERA in 40 combined appearances with Double-A Mississippi and Triple-A Gwinnett this past season. Control was an issue, as he recorded 67 strikeouts and issued 56 walks in 59 2/3 innings. When the Twins selected Bullock in the second round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, there was some hope that he might develop into a quality setup man or closer at the Major League level. But those thoughts have faded, as the hard-throwing right-hander has issued 90 walks in 110 1/3 innings the past two seasons. Bullock will serve the suspension at the start of the 2013 season.

"Minor League pitcher Billy Bullock has been suspended...violation of the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. the hard-throwing right-hander has issued 90 walks in 110 1/3 innings the past two seasons"...Maybe the strike zone will stop moving on him when he becomes sober.

It wasn't all that long ago that even "bad" Twins staffs had at least on experienced, proven starter. The caravan of "hopefulls" is deminishing to perverbial dart throws. Just like other pro sports, it is becoming more and more difficult to follow a team and build any kind of emotional relationship. Blame the farm system, blame the ownership...I don't know how to properly divide it up but I will say unequivacally that the expectations of today's fans and the realities with today's pro sports make it virtually impossible to have the same kind of convictions of loyalty that existed even 10 years ago.
