Why stop at 10 dollars why not make it 50 then a Mcdonalds worker can own a house in florida and a boat too.
The real message behind this is inflation. Inflation makes yesterdays bills look smaller and what the Liberals want to do is make it so they can borrow more money and think that the old bills don't matter. Then, people start doing this with their own finances and the next thing you know is you have a housing crisis. Learned response from bad teachers.
Minimum wage has never been a living wage. At $10.10 an hour, there are going to be a lot of unemployed teenagers.
Did you know that a person making the Minimum Wage of $1.25 an hour back in 1968 was making over $10 dollars an hour in today's dollars? How can you possibly complain about a 10 dollar minimum wage?
'The lawmakers say a hike in the minimum wage would help lift millions of workers out of poverty and boost the economy.' If you are making 10 bucks an hour, you are still in poverty. You want millions of workers out of poverty? Increase the minimum wage to 16 dollars an hour, then have it gradually increase with the cost of living. Take Australia for example, 16 dollar Minimum Wage and a price for a Big Mac is $4 dollars.
