This is a clear cut case of a First Amendment violation. I hope the parents sue the crap out of Bloomington Kennedy.

I'm not a big fan of public schools, but what in the world do you guys expect? Do you really have to do that on one of the last days of school? I think the school is right on this one... you can't be doing that. If you wanted to be radical you should have had a prayer service facing east towards Mecca praising Allah...the Dept of Education apparently has a soft spot for that...

If the intent was to disrupt the school day, then schools have been shown to have broad rights as far as I've seen.

So what are they doing with it? Displaying their southern pride? I think it is obvious what their intentions were. With the nomination of a black man for president get ready for public displays racism to come flowing in. Time for America to prove it is not what we claim to be.

.....is what this is. These kids aren't old enough, and probably never even learned, what this flag represents. I support the schools decision 100%.

Sounds good to me. The school was right to do this and I would be upset if they hadn't done this. One would think that we as a country are better than this type of racist action.

I am confused as to why HS students would do this. They pretty much just look like idiots. The school should have seen this as some confused HS students and be done with it, not suspend them. What they did wasn't illegal and didn't seem to interupt learning.

Kids may pass graduation requirements but this is a microcosm of our youth today, not a whole lot of common sense or decision making skills. If walking with their class was important to them this never would have happened.

What would they be confused about? They got what they deserved. What is really sad is that 25 to 30 students protested it. The students had to know that bringing the flag would get attention.
