Someone needs to help me understand, so the government would shut down if we can find another $85bil in discretionary spending? So what is the other $3.6 trillion used for?
screw the Pentagon, they will survive. people first! fix the safety net.
The pentagon is buying planes from LM that don't even work yet. 1 bill for each plane. Now tell my some friends of the washington gang aren't making money off of us working class stiffs.
There are NO spending cuts. The Federal government has Projected to spend $44 trillion over the next ten years. The sequestor reduces that projected spending to $43 trillion. The government NEVER spends less than the preceding year
swschwrad - screw the Pentagon, they will survive. people first! fix the safety net.-----the primary responsibility of the Federal government is the defense and security of the U.S. - not providing cell phones for people that need to get off their rear ends and do something.
You want to save $3.3Trillion in spending over the next decade, reduce unemployment by the end of next month and not have to raise taxes to do it? Immediately stop flooding the US Labor market with 160Million foreign workers each decade by putting a moratorium on immigration, Mandate E-verify tomorrow and cut fraudulently documented immigrants off the dole for education, social services, healthcare and legal services. Problem solved!
How about start with cuts in Obama's vacation and travel spending.
TSA ordered 50 million dollars worth of uniforms (made in Mexico) the night before the automated cuts. So much for the threat of having to cut back programs vital to our survival.
According to historical tables compiled by the White House Office of Management and Budget, the $2.6 trillion will set a new record for revenue collection in 2013. The Federal goverment will spend $3.6 trillion, creating ANOTHER $1 trillion deficit. Yet, if the projected spending is reduced by a measly $85 billion, life as we know it, will come to an end. - and according to the AP, 750,000 people will lose their jobs because if this paltry reduction.
And how many of the Congresses aides and staff are cut? None. How about their $174,000 salary a year. Any cuts? Nope. How about paying more into their pension or health care? Nope. Everyone else, except defense, gets cuts. I see it very clearly now!!!
