As a typical March snow piled up in the Twin Cities, schools closed for thousands of students — but not in Minneapolis or St. Paul.

I have noted that nearly all photos and video of a Minnesota storm feature a large highway of some sort, and slow moving traffic. I suppose that appears to be the only hardship experienced in our state today, having to drive slower.

"Dozens more were playing the two-hour late card." Seriously? Please refrain from cheap, sophomoric prose when attempting to keep local newspapers in business. It's poor word choice like this that makes me only want to read national or greater scale news.

My suggestions had merit! There is now a picture of a man shoveling, and a boy with his dog!

It was amazing last night how fast the fluff came. 20 minutes in the store and suddenly I had 3 inches or more to clear off the car. Fun though.

The plows are not out in force like they used to be, any snowfall has become hazardous driving conditions. Public safety is a lessening concern.

@wilcowalsh nobody is forcing you to drive when there is a blizzard. When they try to fix the roads, that just encourages more people to try to drive, making the risks higher

Love it! Thanks winter for this great gift! It will melt in a few days for those who don't like it, but gotta love a nice snow fall before winter is out.

"The plows are not out in force like they used to be, any snowfall has become hazardous driving conditions. Public safety is a lessening concern." .... No, it's not a lessening concern. It's because of budget cut backs. Snow plow drivers don't just put in an 8 hour day. The budgets can't sustain the work hours or the number of people required to do the job like they used to.

The snow is great, nice & fluffy, easy to shovel. The streets aren't too bad. What I don't like is the fact that the person in the AWD or the 4WD cannot or will not get over to let the low clearance vehicle get by. Oh well, as long it is fluffy snow, I pull over into it and let the self centered pass by.

What are the odds that one or all of the local news stations will have a story regarding people getting their cars towed?
