The NBA champion Miami Heat returned to the Twin Cities on Monday for the first time since late December 2011 when the Wolves pushed them to overtime before losing by two points.

The sooner Sid's close personal friend Taylor sells this team and GETS OUT OF THE WAY, the better this franchise will be. Ineptness all around...from owner to GM.

Need to offer the job (again) to Tom Penn. He turned it down in 2009 when they eventually hired Kahnzie. He's just an ESPN analyst now.

Wow, very objective analysis Chip. How about weighing the pros and cons? Kahn +s 1. Ricky Rubio drafted and signed when many said it would never happen. 2. Rick Adelman hired when many said it would never happen. 3. Kevin Love signed to medium-term contract when there was some uncertainty around it. Kahn -s 1. Drafted Johnny Flynn 2. Drafted Wes Johnson 3. Is generally an unlikeable jack@ss No GM is ever perfect. Flip would be more likeable, but so was McHale. If we need to fire Kahn to keep Adelman and Love then so be it. But rest assured Flip will make mistakes too.

Wait so that game I went to last year was an overtime game? Dang I should have stayed after the fourth quarter....pretty sure they lost the game in the fourth

Like I said wake me when Kahn is fired. No other basketball team at any level would hire Kahn. Only a fool would not fire him at this point.

You media guys are just relentless in your ripping of Kahn. Its unbelievable! In one sentence you rip him, in the next you praise the core of this team. Guess who put that together? Unbelievable. But for a massive run of injuries, this team would have been in the playoffs last year and this year. Then what would you be saying about KAhn?

Kahn will not be back. That is a given. Saunders will not be the new GM. Taylor has not been a great owner, but he's not an idiot. Adelman will help Taylor hand pick a VP of Basketball Operations that Adelman will be comfortable working with. Adelman has all the leverage in this situation. Taylor knows he needs Adelman to stay to maintain some legitimacy to his operation. Love, Rubio, Pekovic and Budinger are excellent building blocks. Pekovic will stay but not if it costs $12MM a year. A key will be keeping Budinger, who hasn't had a chance to be the outside shooting threat this team really needs. They can squeeze another year out of Kirilenko. This team isn't that far away.

I really do not understand the typical Minnesota attitude of keeping everything in the family. Why would we ever want Saunders running this team? That's just like wanting Molitor to coach the Twins. Just another guy that has past history here but no experience in the position. I don't want to be too cynical, but this is such a common thought process of a typical MN sports fan. Get a little more creative and then maybe there will be better options.

among their big mistakes, foye over gay, flynn over curry & derozan & monroe, trading lawson, webster came of it though they couldn't even keep him, letting motiejunas go to bring in someone's idiot friend, letting randolph go for nothing, and perhaps their worst move, wes johnson instead of the future great demarcus cousins. more generally, they trading youthful enthusiasm for garbage.
