Triclosan is the active ingredient in popular anti-bacterial hand soaps. I've read that soaps that aren't anti-bacterial are safer to use, and belileve we all need to make a conscious effort to buy triclosan-free hand soaps.

The research is hardly "recent" and its about time we do something about it. This is a good first step, the next is barring it from hand soaps and detergents all together.

Triclosan is also an active ingredient in some Colgate toothpaste. Doesn't really sound like something you'd want to put in your mouth or accidentally ingest. It was originally created/used as an operating room disinfectant. Thank you for paying attention Gov Dayton, if companys won't stop using it, time to stop giving them our money.
