We Catholics have the fullness of Truth, why not share it?

Interesting development. I know of many catholics - including myself - who do have moved away from the church in recent years because of the shift toward a more conservative message. I don't think this will do it for us.

I wish the Catholics well with this initiative. However the problem might be more with content then a public relations campaign.

As a life long Catholic (believe me - it's been easier some years than in others), I find the best discussions of faith have actually come with my Jewish friends. We discover each other's core beilfs and explore not only the beliefs and why but the culture surrounding having faith in anything at all! This artilce descibes a good step and it's appropriate in this archdiocese. Since the departure of AB Flynn ... things have kind of 'dropped off' in the See.

Somebody needs to sell these "evangelical protestants" a clue. Let me help here. Go read the 17th chapter of Revelation and then read Fox's book of Martyrs.

I disagree, Minneg. His excellency has simply gone back to teaching what the Church has always taught. This is Catholic doctrine, not subject to change, and 100% true.

I don't need to rediscover my Catholicism I need to reclaim it from the hierarchy that have focused energy on same sex marriage, birth control, hiding abusive priests, rather than on the core message of Jesus. The Catholic Church is my spiritual home it will not be improved with gimmicks from evangelical movements.

So anti gay rhetoric and sex scandle cover ups didn't work so now were going to try this? I'm still trying to figure out how it is that most Catholics I meet are very lovely people but their church is about as nasty and immoral a place you can find. And this is from someone who spent thirty years in one. It will be really interesting to see if this program is about promoting the faith to others or keeping those already in the church distracted while all the nastiness in Rome slowly leakes out over the next month.

They're scrambling because they are now realizing just how many people they have turned off to the catholic faith. I was raised catholic, but I have since switched to a much more upbeat, forward looking, inclusive ELCA church.

Though I can appreciate the "personal relationship" that evangelical Protestants have as their base, and am glad that some Protestant evangelicals are now looking at some elements that Catholicism uses in its "social gospel," at its worst, this whole Me and Jesus priority sounds more just like me, me, me, and what can I get, which is sort of like Oprah for religious people.
