Antonio Flores of Edina’s Valley View Middle School, center, rested his head before straining his brain as contestants waited to compete Saturday in the Seven County Metro Area Regional Spelling Bee held at Augsburg College in Minneapolis. Jacob Lahti, 13, of Parkview Center School in Roseville, won on the words “mobiliary” and “Rembrandt.” He advances to the Scripps Howard National Spelling Bee in Washington, D.C.
