I can tell you why a lot of people are not pounding on the doors of legislatures for change. It's a disconnect on the part of those that like to use the outdoors for hunting and fishing, and not wanting to be seen as a tree-hugging liberal. This is actually common ground for that group and us liberals. The future of our lives is linked to the health of our outdoors, yet the gun rights advocates want no part of a government led approach to solving the problems. Until that changes, forget about getting help for our environment.

Thank you, first of all, to the folks in the DNR, legislature, and environmental groups who are doing everything they can to respond to these threats. Second, it's ridiculous that Minnesota "used to spend 2 percent of its general fund on natural resources and the environment; now it spends about two-thirds of 1 percent." When will we understand that everything we love--our state, our land, our children's future, the economy--depends on a healthy environment?

Congrats to the DNR, Board of Animal Health, and the MN Dept. of Ag. for stopping the Tb outbreak in the cattle and deer herds of Northern MN. You CAN do the impossible when you work together.

Mining can be done and is done in a safe manner now. We are highly regulated in this state and there is a process with oversight by many agencies. Climate warming is a natural earth cycle if you research it long term. To keep repeating that misinformation is amusing. People need to come to sensible solutions that work for everyone, not just a few. In the meantime, jobs continue to be exported out of this state due to environmental foundations with grand agendas that work for them but not the people in this state. Our communities and schools need the additional funding, that is lost on citizens from a major metropolitan area who have adequate numbers of students and people. If you don't see it, it doesn't affect you right?

Yet another article from the left telling us that we are in danger and the only thing that can help us is more and bigger government. If this discredited approach actually worked, our 16 trillion dollar national debt would have resulted in us all living in some utopian paradise.
