One small defenseman hurts them. Give them another 6 foot plus defenseman and that would help along with a power forward. They get knock around the ice by bigger teams and regardless Russo, big wins in the NHL.

Why trade a guy who can skate, plays hard at all times, can fill different roles, but keep someone who can't do any of the above. Keep Cullen and trade Heatly. A no brainer.

I hope we dont trade Cullen, but if it helps the team, I guess. PMB should be standing tall on that trading block. That concussion ruined his career. He spends the entire game trying to not get hit. I bet that impresses other teams lookin gat him. UGH.

Come trade deadline, if we're in a playoff position, Cullen stays; if we're out, he gets traded for pick or prospect. I doubt we'll see anything happen before then.

I have to agree with you, Lindy, based on what I saw sitting down near the glass on one end at the Phoenix game this week. The Wild gave it a good effort in the corners, but they too often get manhandled there. Similarly in front of the net (on both ends).

The Hawks are smoking through the regular season and they have added size and toughness to their roster since their performance dropped off after their last Stanley Cup run but the last 20 games of the season and the SC playoffs(usually another 20 games) will tell the true story. The facts point to big, tough talented teams with about 6 or more good power forwards upfront doing well in the playoffs and especially the western conf. Check out the King's roster from last year and remember that they were a good regular season team and then pretty much coasted through the SC playoffs to a championship with a bunch of power forwards on the roster who could play. If Cullen will re-sign a 2 year deal wirh an option for a 3rd before the trade deadline for about what Brodziak signed for then the Wild should consider keeping him. If they can't get a reasonable deal worked out by then they should trade him for a good future prospect as Granlund should be ready for the 2nd line center position for next year as long as the Wild can add a big tough and talented leftwing to play with him and Seto or Coyle. The Wild needs 2 players added to the mix in a big way at this time and moving forward. They need a top power forward leftwing to play with Granlund and Seto(or Coyle) who can dominate on the walls and in the paint while watching Granlund's back too(plus mentor Coyle). They also need a big tough rt. "D" to pair up with Brodin who can play top 4 minutes with the kid and watch his back also. That means that Cullen, Heatley, PMB, Falk, Scandella and Spurgeon could all be made available to pick up those 2 players along with another prospect or 2 and possibly a draft pick thrown into the mix also. The Wild are only about 2 players away form really being a true contender at this time and should be agressive making it happen. PS. Can we trade Greenlay for a bag of pucks ? I listened to him again last night and he made 2 insightful comments as compared to 6 moronic ones. I also listened to the Blackhawks color guy about a week ago and he was very, very good so why are we stuck with Greenlay ???
