"To Leipold, this is perfect. Every team is in the Central time zone" - Wrong, Colorado is in the mountain time zone.

Leopold said that the disparity in East/West playoff chances is the best we can do. Wrong. Put 15 teams in each half and let the best 8 in (if you want to take 2 or 3 from each division, that's fine too). There is nothing legitimate preventing the NHL from doing so.

I expect to see a few anti Hawk posts on here. America runs on jealousy/and before you get carried away, I'm not a Hawk fan. I just recognize talent when I see it.

Was there some point you were trying to make lindy? What the heck was that you just posted?! Just FYI ... I'd bet you that most Wild fans will be ecstatic about being in the same divvy with the Hawks (and St. Louis and Dallas, etc. )no matter how good or bad they, or we, are.

Didn't any of you watch the Cinesport/STrib video on realignment? The inequity is because they plan to expand by two teams, placing one in Seattle and the other, most likely, in Toronto but in the West--as in our division. This really isn't a big deal. It'll be this way for, maybe, two years. Then, we'll have eight teams in every division and you can find something else to whine about.

Liepold would save up to a million dollars! Then he could lower ticket prices so the average Joe could afford to attend a game! That would be awesome. We need this change, what a division we would have, great rivalries!

ARRey sez: Whatever money saved by the owner will likely go to his brother-in-law's legal defense fund, not to lowering ticket prices.

Rewatch the video. Moriarty is speculating, not reporting. A few weeks back, Russo categorical denied that the NHL currently has any plans for expansion, despite some pundits' imagining it would do so or speculating about it making sense. Moriarty is also off his rocker if he thinks the NHL is going to open an extra team in Toronto but put them in the Western conference. Oh boy..

@wdntyouknw You should also watch the video again. He certainly sounds sure of it, just as HE was one of the first ones to break the new divisional alignment. The guy knows what he's talking about. Really, why else would they align like this? Think about it. And if not Toronto, Kansas City wants a team. Milwaukee would be a good home for a team. Houston is a huge market and would provide an in-state rival to the Stars. Oklahoma City has proven to be a viable hockey market. It'll happen, that's why Moriarty went on record as saying he believes it will happen.
