Basically, a non-increase after taxes, BUT the union protected it's intake of dues.

Protecting full time jobs from turning part time is a huge win, and prevents what would amount to a huge wage reduction with loss of paid hours and probably benefits as well.

Well if my math is correct, security officers get to keep 26 dollars a month in raises and the union get 40 dollars a month. Who wins? the Greedy Union!!

Out of curiosity, what are the monthly dues paid to the union by it's members? I have never had the misfortune of being in a union so I honestly do not know. Is it a percentage of salary? Is it a flat rate per month/quarter/etc? So if the guards are getting what is basically a $0.40 per hour increase per year over the next three years does that increase the amount of dues paid?

acctsah2 count your blessings that you have never had to be in a union. The dues for this union are $40 dollars regardless of what you make. So then on a monthly basis, this raise makes union member $64 extra but the union takes $40 a month for the dues. Therefore the union is benefiting from this deal more than the Security Officer. Shouldn't it be the other way around?

They got bigger raises than Minneapolis Police Officers ( 0%, 0% and 2% over three years). Maybe the police should go with that bargaining unit...

Hey all you smart guys.... Try living on $11 an hour in this town! If the union wasn't there, wages would be much lower... for ALL Trades!! Some of you people should wake up!

Bless the union members who fought this fight and won. They are fighting for the rights of the middle class and workers everywhere

"Hey all you smart guys.... Try living on $11 an hour in this town! If the union wasn't there, wages would be much lower... for ALL Trades!! Some of you people should wake up!" Wanna bet? I actually have an in demand skill-set and I came to my employer with an education ready to contribute to the bottom line (unlike these garbage can emptiers and the human radio stands that belong to the SEIU). I don't have to wait for my number to be called if I want to take a job, I just go, I don't need permission. My employer knows that and pays to keep my services.
