So is Obama saying we cannot even cut the federal budget by 2 or 3 percent without it becoming a crisis situation? If so, we are doomed.

Congressional trips overseas likely will take a hit. This should have been at the top of the list. They should also limit their budget for travel expenses within the US. Congresses and the presidents budget expenses should have been the first thing looked at in areas to cut. After all, they caused this mess in the first place.

Ancestors lived in wood cabins or sod huts. I think we will survive having to wait a bit to get into a bathroom at a national park or if air traffic is a bit slower. If we told our ancestors that we needed these things and borrow from foreign countries to get it, they would be outraged.
