"Friday's meeting, the first face-to-face one since Obama was sworn in for his second term in January..." He waits til NOW to meet; has only laid false blame, rather than try to resolve. He'd rather hurt the country he serves than fix the issues, most created by himself.
"In the latest session of Congress, the least productive since World War II, they rarely have." .................... And more power to them! The less "government" we have, the better off we are. Anything that reins in that spendhappy bunch is more than welcome to owatonnabill.
"Billions of dollars in harsh budget cuts" Could you be more biased??
it was the Bush unpaid for tax cuts, Medicare Part D and recession that created the problems.
...and the politicians will drive the point home by hurting everyone but themselves.
----Economists and lawmakers alike agree that the cuts, the potential shutdown and the country's series of fiscal crises overall are hurting the country's shaky comeback from the Great Recession, and the effects will be felt around the world.---- Nice reporting, around the world? 85 billion in cuts is going to felt around the world? Melodramatic is an understatement for this article..
Why can't we sue the politicians for malfeasance?
"He'd rather hurt the country he serves than fix the issues, most created by himself." -- Don't worry, I'm sure the press will make sure the GOP gets the blame even though the cuts were proposed by the White House.
These reductions in planned increases (a.k.a. "cuts" in Washington-speak) barely constitute a good start, but at least it's something.
Instead of flying around the country, Obama should have been negotiating. Leaderless in the White House.
