It's clear that former Timberwolves coach Flip Saunders wants to coach somewhere. So he's keeping his options open. "If the right situation comes along? I'll evaluate that."

Folks, Flip will not comment on or express interest in the Gophers until Coach Smith's contract is bought-out, or there is a coaching vacancy at the U. Sure, he probably wants it, but out of respect for the current coaching administration, Flip is keeping (wisely) silent.

I see Flip wanting to leave his mark here, in Minnesota. Either with the Wolves or the Gophers. Taylor is selling the team, maybe there is something in it for him there. Otherwise, the Gopher job. Flip knows he could do big things for the Gophers.

Its been all about money for Flip. There is no way he would give the U a hometown discount while the U pays off Tubby. I'd love to see him as coach and think the gophers would do well with him but he never really has won anything, ever.

I'd rather see Flip take over fror Kahn. Keep the structure the way it is with Adelman and his sons and just inject Flip for Kahn.
