Let those at the dinner table choose their own toppings to make a kid-pleasing meal.

Consider that if may be the spices in Chili that kids and adults react negatively to. No matter how you serve it, it will be rejected. There is a genetic component to tolerance of ingredients like cilantro and nothing will make it palatable. I can't stand the smell or taste of cilantro, chili, cumin, or hot peppers so Tex-Mex cuisine is out for me. I like fresh beans but the texture of dried beans make them unpalatable. Find out the real objection to foods and solutions are possible. You can split the ground beef (chicken or turkey) and make part of the topping as " sloppy joes". Tacos can have optional fillers like turkey slices. Forcing people to eat some foods is a food fight everyone loses.
