Online education must improve before financial aid given

Obama has hinted these students should be eligible. That’s not a good ideal just yet.

I agree with the thesis that online courses have not shown to be effective educationally for the learner. I have over twenty years of experience using online instruction and believe it is a great supplement for in person learning but lacks the ability to focus on the learner rather than the content. Great teachers are sensitive to the learner and adjust instruction to meet their demands. This cannot be accomplished with online education. College administrators love online courses as they are so very profitable. We can improve upon the way we use online instruction to make it more productive but only through careful research.

OK, already talking about allowing student loan money to pay for something that is currently free...am I missing something?? There are aspects of online that are good, but there needs to be interaction in the classroom too for a good education to come through. You learn from the other studnets just as much as you learn from the instructor...sometimes more. I would not have gotten nearly as much out of an online MBA program as I did from the in classroom one.
